About Us

Orthotix is proud to be flying the flag for Wales in the orthopaedic healthcare sector. Operating as an omni-channel business, we supply a diverse range of healthcare products to hospitals, orthotic businesses, private clinics, sports organisations, and directly to the public through retailers and our established online platforms.

Orthotix delivers clinically led, off-the-shelf orthotic solutions designed to improve mobility, comfort, and quality of life, supporting your health & wellbeing.

Our Story

Our roots date back to 1972, when our founding company was established to support people with disabilities in the Cardiff community. What began as a local service soon expanded nationwide, supplying custom-made orthoses through National Health Service (NHS) contracts.

Today, Orthotix forms part of the last remaining Orthotic House in Wales with full manufacturing capability, offering both bespoke and ready-made orthotic products.

In 2004, Orthotix was launched to provide an affordable range of off-the-shelf orthotic products to complement our bespoke solutions. For many NHS patients, this meant quicker lead times and access to medically approved devices designed to treat a wide range of orthotic pathologies and injuries.

In 2014, we took an important step forward by going digital, making our niche orthopaedic products more accessible than ever through multiple online platforms under our Orthotix Healthcare brand.

Now a proud third-generation family-owned business, Orthotix operates as part of The PTH Group, alongside a portfolio of other healthcare companies including Daceys, Ace Feet in Motion, and The Healthcare Hub. Siblings Paul, Tom, and Hayley continue to drive strategic growth, product innovation, and a culture of customer care across the businesses.

Our Headquarters

Based in Cardiff, South Wales, our headquarters operates from a 25,000 sq ft purpose-built facility designed to support every aspect of our service. The site includes extensive warehousing and fulfilment operations, dedicated customer service offices, and modern administrative spaces. We also house fully equipped conference and training facilities alongside contemporary clinical areas, enabling us to support product development, professional education, and high-quality customer care, all under one roof.

Our Purpose

At Orthotix, our purpose is to support the health and wellbeing of the public by improving access to functional, affordable, and high-quality Class I medical devices and healthcare products.

We believe everyone should have access to effective orthotic healthcare solutions that promote mobility, independence, and comfort. By working closely with Healthcare Professionals, NHS partners, and retailers, we make clinically approved products more accessible to those who need them most across the UK.

Our Brands

Orthotix serves as the exclusive distribution partner for several leading global manufacturers within the orthopaedic sector. As the designated UK Responsible Person, we are proud to represent and introduce their well-established brands to the UK market. In addition to these partnerships, we have also developed our own comprehensive range of product lines in collaboration with our multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Our Sustainability

At Orthotix, sustainability is central to how we operate and invest for the future. We have significantly reduced our environmental impact through the installation of a 68kW TIC photovoltaic solar system, with 40 solar panels generating 100% of the renewable electricity required to power our entire operation. Alongside this, we have introduced FSC-approved packaging and continue to improve sourcing, materials, and logistics in line with our environmental policy.

Orthotix is committed to achieving net carbon by 2030, aligning with the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap and supporting the wider healthcare ambition to deliver high quality care with reduced environmental impact.

Our Social Values

Orthotix believes that commercial success should go hand in hand with positive social impact. We are proud partners of NHS Together Charities, donating a percentage of all Orthotix own-branded product sales to support charitable projects across the NHS and UK communities. This represents a minimum annual contribution of £8,000, with the hope that it will far exceed this amount year on year.

Orthotix operates as part of Dacey Ltd, which has made a public pledge through The Cardiff Commitment. Through this initiative, team members volunteer across schools and communities, delivering career talks, workplace visits, work experience placements, interview workshops, and employability events, creating lasting social value by supporting healthcare, empowering young people, and strengthening local communities.

Our Accreditations

At Orthotix, we have implemented a suite of ISO standards to ensure the effective management of our design, manufacture, and supply of Class I medical devices. These systems underpin our commitment to consistent quality, safety, and compliance.

As a long-standing member of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) and the British Association Of Prosthetics and Orthotics (BAPO), we uphold the highest standards of product integrity and patient safety. We also remain fully compliant with the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and maintain an assigned EU Authorised Representative to support our international export operations.
