What makes a compression glove different?
The fabric is designed to fit closely and apply more consistent pressure than a standard glove.
How tight should it feel?
Firm and supportive, but not painful. The wearer should still be able to move the fingers within the limits allowed by the glove design.
What are signs that it is too tight?
- numbness or tingling;
- finger colour change;
- cold fingertips;
- deep painful marks;
- throbbing;
- swelling beyond the glove edge.
What if it is too loose?
The glove may wrinkle, slide or provide little meaningful compression.
Why does hand measurement matter?
Sizing is usually based on hand dimensions such as palm circumference. Follow the specific product size guide rather than normal clothing-glove size.
How should compression gloves be cared for?
Follow the washing instructions so elastic fibres are not damaged, and allow the gloves to dry fully before reuse.
Should they be worn overnight?
Only if the product instructions or a clinician specifically support overnight use. Wearing time depends on the purpose of the glove.
Important: Compression is not appropriate for every hand problem. New swelling, colour change, reduced sensation or significant pain should be assessed.
