What does the glove do?
The glove provides broader fabric support across part of the hand and selected fingers, helping hold straps and support components in position.
What does the splint attachment add?
The attachment adds rigid or semi-rigid structure so selected fingers can be held more firmly than with the fabric glove alone.
Is the attachment a standalone splint?
A dedicated attachment is normally designed to fit within or onto its compatible glove rather than being used separately.
Why does compatibility matter?
The glove positions the attachment and distributes pressure. An incompatible combination may move, press incorrectly or fail to support the intended area.
How should the glove fit?
Close enough to remain stable without excessive compression, bunching or pressure around the wrist and finger openings.
Can the attachment angle be changed?
Only where the product is designed for adjustment and the required treatment position is known.
What should you monitor?
- finger colour and warmth;
- numbness or tingling;
- skin pressure marks;
- swelling;
- the splint shifting out of position;
- the glove becoming excessively tight.
Important: If the glove and attachment have been set up as part of a clinical treatment plan, do not bend or reposition the rigid component without appropriate advice.
