A heel lift should sit flat and securely at the back of the shoe with your heel centred over it.
The shoe needs enough depth to accommodate the raised heel without causing excessive heel slippage or pressure around the shoe collar.
Where should the lift sit?
Position it fully back against the heel section of the shoe. It should not sit halfway forward under the arch or move around during walking.
How should your heel sit on it?
Your heel should remain centred on the lift rather than hanging over an edge. The lift should feel stable when weight is applied.
What if the heel lifts out of the shoe?
Adding elevation raises the foot inside the shoe. If the shoe is shallow, the heel may start slipping or rubbing against the collar.
Can you stack heel lifts?
Only use adjustable layers as the product is designed. Creating excessive height by stacking unrelated lifts can make the foot unstable and significantly alter shoe fit.
Should the lift go under or over the original insole?
Follow the product instructions. A small heel lift may sit on top of the existing liner, while some footwear setups work better with the lift securely positioned beneath a removable insole.
