What does heat mouldable mean?
A heat-mouldable insole contains a material that becomes more shapeable within a controlled temperature range.
Once softened, it can be adapted and allowed to cool into the new form.
Why are insoles heat moulded?
Heat moulding can be used to refine fit, alter contact beneath the arch or accommodate aspects of the foot or footwear.
It provides more adaptability than a completely fixed prefabricated insert.
Does heat moulding make an insole fully custom made?
No. The device still begins from a standard manufactured shape and size.
A fully custom orthosis is produced from an individual prescription and foot model or scan.
Can heat moulding change the arch shape?
Depending on the product, controlled moulding can change the contour of the support.
The amount of adjustment is limited by the material and design.
Can every EVA insole be heated?
No. Only use heat where the manufacturer specifically describes the product as heat mouldable and provides a method.

Can a hairdryer, oven or radiator be used?
Do not improvise. Uncontrolled heat can deform the device, damage adhesives or create an uneven surface.
Use only the heating method specified for the individual product.
Can heat moulding be repeated?
This depends on the material and product instructions. Repeated heating can alter material properties or reduce durability.
What should the finished insole feel like?
It should provide broad, comfortable contact rather than a sharp pressure ridge.
The device should remain stable in the shoe and should not rock after modification.
Important: If the insole was prescribed or professionally adjusted, do not re-mould it independently because this can change the intended prescription.
When is professional moulding useful?
Professional adjustment is helpful where a standard shape is close to suitable but requires controlled modification to improve contact, fit or biomechanical support.
