Distal Finger Splint
Inc. VAT & Standard UK Delivery
The Distal Finger Splint is a rigid, medical-grade splint specifically designed to support and protect the distal interphalangeal joint (DIP) during recovery from trauma or tendon injuries such as mallet finger. Mallet finger occurs when the extensor tendon is damaged, typically through sudden impact or hyperflexion, causing an inability to straighten the fingertip.
This anatomically shaped plastic splint holds the final joint of the finger in a neutral or extended position, allowing proper healing while still enabling movement at the middle knuckle (proximal interphalangeal joint). It’s also effective for crush injuries to the fingertip or nail bed.
Designed to be secured in place with medical tape, the lightweight construction ensures secure immobilisation while remaining discreet and easy to wear under gloves or during daily activities. The splint is available in seven sizes for a precise fit, based on the distal circumference of the affected finger or thumb.
