Product Description

The Puffin Supramalleolar Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO) is a dynamic two-shell orthotic that provides enhanced support and alignment for individuals with moderate to severe foot pronation, supination, subtalar joint instability, severe flatfoot, or balance and coordination challenges. Made from lightweight polyethylene and polypropylene, it offers strong yet comfortable foot stability while promoting a natural gait pattern.

The soft internal shell wraps around the tibial and fibular malleoli, covering the plantar surface and midfoot to ensure maximum comfort. Meanwhile, the rigid external shell reinforces alignment, keeping the foot in a corrected position. A midfoot Velcro closure system with adjustable, trimmable straps ensures a secure fit, while adhesive Velcro patches between the shells prevent movement. Additionally, optional comfort pads for the toe and dorsal midfoot provide extra cushioning.

Advisory Notice: When fitting it is recommended to choose a size that leaves approximately 1cm of space between the end of the orthosis & the foot.
