Product Description

The 3-TEX® Open Patella Hinged Knee Brace is a textile knee orthosis designed to combine compression with additional medial and lateral stability.

Metal polycentric joints positioned on either side of the knee provide structured mediolateral reinforcement while allowing functional flexion and extension.

Unlike the standard 3-TEX® Polycentric Knee Brace, this Open version leaves the kneecap uncovered and does not use the silicone patella pad found on the closed/support-pad model.

Adjustable femoral and tibial straps secure the brace above and below the knee and allow the fit to be adapted around the thigh and calf.

The three-layer 3-TEX® material combines elastic microfibre fabric, polyurethane foam and a soft terry-cloth layer. Internal silicone grip points are designed to help reduce unwanted brace migration during movement.

The brace may be suitable for joint pain, mild mediolateral knee instability, osteoarthritis or arthritis, and selected tendon symptoms where this level of hinged knee support is appropriate.

It provides more side-to-side stability than a simple compression sleeve while allowing considerably more movement than a specialist ROM or immobilisation brace.

How is this different from a basic knee sleeve?
A basic sleeve mainly provides compression. This brace additionally includes metal polycentric joints to provide greater medial and lateral stability.

How is it different from a ROM knee brace?
This brace provides hinged stability but does not deliberately limit flexion or extension. A ROM brace allows knee movement to be restricted to selected angles during rehabilitation.

Can it be worn on either knee?
Yes. The design is bilateral.

How tight should the straps be?
The thigh and calf straps should secure the brace without causing pain, numbness, tingling or excessive pressure.

How do I choose the correct size?
