The 5-Layer Heel Elevator (Firm Density) is an adjustable EVA heel lift designed to provide controlled heel elevation with a firmer level of support.
Five peel-away layers provide approximately 15 mm, 12 mm, 9 mm, 6 mm or 3 mm of elevation, allowing the heel height to be reduced in stages according to the reason for use, footwear and individual requirements.
The firm-density EVA construction is less compressible than the Mid Density version and may be preferred where a more structured heel raise or greater resistance to compression is required.
Adhesive layered construction and a non-slip top cover help the lift remain positioned inside suitable footwear.
Heel lifts may be used temporarily to alter loading through the calf and Achilles tendon, provide controlled heel elevation or compensate for a clinically assessed leg-length discrepancy. They may also be considered as part of a wider management approach for selected heel symptoms.
More elevation is not automatically better. Excessive heel lift height can cause heel slippage, forefoot pressure or instability inside the shoe, so use only the amount required for the intended purpose.
For Achilles symptoms or general bilateral heel elevation, matching lifts are commonly worn in both shoes. A lift should normally be used in only one shoe where a genuine leg-length discrepancy has been assessed and unilateral correction has been recommended.
Remove layers evenly from the underside to reduce the height. Once a layer has been removed, it may not be possible to restore the original height securely.
Supplied as a pair.
